Somebody is going to take control of the National League East ...

It just may not happen until 2011, LOL!

Just when you think the Phils are going to pull away and build a nice seven- or eight-game cushion over the Marlins, Mets and Braves, here we all are again, bunched up at four games out or closer entering play today.

It's been a very strange year so far, and this crazy race may push deep into summer and maybe even all the way beyond Labor Day with all four of those teams within spitting distance of each other. I think the Marlins have played their best baseball of the year, so they may slide back into fourth by the time we get into August. As for the Phils and Mets and Braves? Who knows what version of each team is going to show up from day to day? Either the world-beating squad that makes you think they can win the pennant, or the frustrating squad that looks like they'll be lucky to finish .500.

We know this much: It's been interesting so far! Planning on checking out the Phils here in Atlanta next week.

Bud.

I don't disagree that there was something fishy about the game. I am just not jumping to believe Donaghy. David Stern needs to stop being so smug about it too.
